Mumbai, September 13 (Daily Kiran) : National spokesperson for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Tuhin Sinha, has described the recent BRICS Summit as a historic event. He emphasized that the ‘New Delhi Declaration’ reflects a strong and unanimous stance against terrorism, marking a significant diplomatic victory for India. Sinha pointed out that the declaration addresses several critical global issues, including reforms in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) and the interests of the Global South.
In an interview, Sinha remarked, “This BRICS Summit has truly been historic. The way the ‘New Delhi Declaration’ was crafted, considering the sensitivities of all participating nations, is commendable. It covers a wide range of crucial topics, including UNSC reforms and condemnation of the Pahalgam terror attack, effectively placing Pakistan under scrutiny. Under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, India has consistently raised its voice against terrorism on every global platform. Now, with all BRICS nations united against terrorism, I believe this is a significant diplomatic win for India.”
Sinha further highlighted India’s clear stance on issues concerning the Global South, stating that India has emerged as a voice for these nations. He noted, “Now, all countries are speaking in unison about the interests of the Global South. There will be increased cooperation in technology and AI sectors. This is indeed a historic BRICS Summit. Establishing coordination among 11 countries is a triumph of Indian diplomacy. Bringing together all voices, sentiments, and aspirations to guide the world forward is a major achievement for India, and when world leaders speak together on important issues, it sends a positive signal globally.”
Sinha also responded to the absence of chief ministers from Congress-ruled states at the gala dinner held during the summit. He stated, “The dinner was open to everyone. I believe the Congress CMs should have attended. Only they can explain their absence. However, every CM was invited. This was a moment of great enthusiasm and pride for the country, a truly historic occasion.”
Targeting the opposition, Sinha claimed that Congress fails to grasp India’s foreign policy. He said, “Congress has always questioned our alliances, whether we stand with the US or Iran, or with Russia or Ukraine. The opposition does not understand that a balanced, positive, and multilateral approach is a crucial pillar of our foreign policy, which India has adopted under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership over the past decade.”
