Trust in Government Eroding, Says SP Leader Amid Surge of New Members
SP leader Avadhesh Prasad highlights dwindling public trust in the government as many join the party ahead of elections.

New Delhi, October 26 (Daily Kiran) : In New Delhi, the Samajwadi Party (SP) is witnessing a significant influx of leaders from various political factions. This trend has prompted party MPs to criticize the current state government while outlining their strategy for the upcoming elections.
SP MP Avadhesh Prasad remarked on the recent joining of numerous party leaders, stating that public trust in the government has diminished. He noted that disillusionment spans across all demographics, including youth, farmers, and business owners.
Prasad emphasized that the only leader gaining public confidence is Akhilesh Yadav. He attributed the large number of new members to the positive impact of Yadav’s policies.
Another SP MP, Neeraj Maurya, expressed enthusiasm about the new additions, asserting that the people of Uttar Pradesh are yearning for change. He welcomed the new members, indicating that this shift reflects a desire for transformation within the state.
Maurya also addressed comments made by Mallikarjun Kharge regarding Prime Minister Modi’s father, suggesting that such remarks were made in anger and should not have been voiced.
Responding to AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi’s claims about the treatment of Muslims within the SP, Maurya stated, “I do not know what he is doing. However, the people of Uttar Pradesh want change. If he also desires change and aims to remove the BJP, he should support the Samajwadi Party unconditionally.”
Regarding the administration’s refusal to permit the SP’s bicycle distribution program, Maurya accused the government of abusing its power. He questioned the rationale behind blocking such initiatives, suggesting that fear of impending change drives the government’s actions to disrupt events and harass SP supporters.
Looking ahead to the opposition rally scheduled for November 1 and the allocation of seats for the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, Maurya affirmed that the SP is focused on forming a government in the state. He mentioned that the national leadership will determine the seat distribution in collaboration with other parties.
