Trump Seeks Financial Support from Arab Nations for Iran Conflict, White House Indicates

Washington, March 31: White House Press Secretary Carolyn Levitt stated that President Donald Trump is “quite interested” in seeking financial assistance from Arab nations to cover expenses related to the ongoing U.S.-Israel conflict against Iran.

During a press briefing at the White House, Levitt mentioned that she would not elaborate further on the matter, but it is a consideration that Trump is contemplating, with potential discussions to follow in the future.

Earlier this month, Pentagon officials informed the U.S. Congress that the Trump administration had already spent over $11.3 billion in the first six days of the war against Iran, as reported by Xinhua News Agency.

However, this figure does not include costs associated with war damages and compensations. According to a report by The Wall Street Journal, estimates suggest that the Pentagon’s expenses in the first three weeks of the conflict could range between $1.4 billion and $2.9 billion, as projected by former Pentagon budget officer Ellen McCasker.

The White House has requested at least $200 billion in additional military funding from Congress. This budget is intended for ongoing military operations in Iran and to replenish the Pentagon’s weapon stockpiles.

Levitt also commented on the current rise in energy prices, asserting that it is temporary and that weakening Iran will yield long-term benefits.

She explained that this is a short-term measure and that the fluctuations in prices are expected. The ultimate goal is to eliminate the threat posed by Iran to the U.S., its troops, and its allies.

Levitt referenced the Gulf War, noting that during that time, the U.S. acted in coalition with several countries under the support of the United Nations against Iraq. Following Iraq’s invasion, this coalition acted upon requests from Kuwait and several Arab nations. Currently, the U.S. and Israel are primarily acting alone against Iran, lacking the same level of international support or regional cooperation as in the past.
