New Delhi, April 21: Former U.S. President Donald Trump has launched a sharp attack on the Iran Nuclear Deal (JCPOA), labeling it a significant threat to American security. He asserted that a new deal, which he is currently working on, will be far superior and more secure.
In a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump stated, “The deal we are negotiating with Iran will be much better than the JCPOA, commonly referred to as the ‘Iran Nuclear Deal.’ The agreement made by Barack Hussein Obama and Sleepy Joe Biden was one of the worst deals related to our nation’s security. It paved the way for Iran to develop nuclear weapons, but our new deal will prevent that from happening.”
Trump further claimed that $1.7 billion in cash was sent to Iran in “green” money, loaded onto a Boeing 757, allowing Iranian leadership to spend it as they wished. He noted that banks in Washington D.C., Virginia, and Maryland had never seen such a transaction before.
Additionally, Trump alleged that hundreds of billions of dollars were also given to Iran. “If I hadn’t terminated that deal, nuclear weapons would have already been used against Israel and throughout the Middle East, even on our American military bases,” he said.
He criticized journalists from outlets like the Washington Post, specifically David Ignatius, for discussing the JCPOA while knowing how dangerous and embarrassing it was for the United States.
Trump concluded by stating that if a new deal were to be established under his leadership, it would ensure peace, security, and stability not just for Israel and the Middle East, but also for Europe, America, and the entire world. “This will be a deal that the whole world can be proud of, unlike the previous one that brought us shame and humiliation due to weak and ineffective leadership,” he added.
