Tributes Pour in for Jagannath Rao Joshi on His Death Anniversary

New Delhi, July 15: On the death anniversary of Jagannath Rao Joshi, a prominent leader of the Goa Liberation Movement and known as ‘Karnataka Kesari’, several key political figures, including Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Home Minister Amit Shah, paid their respects.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh remarked, “Jagannath Rao Joshi was a great leader, an extraordinary organizer, and a tireless advocate for national unity. His unwavering dedication to the nation was evident in his role in the Goa Liberation Movement, while his fearless stance against social evils like untouchability reflected his vision for a just and harmonious society.”

He further stated, “Recognized for his simplicity, sharp intellect, and steadfast commitment to the motherland, Jagannath Rao Joshi dedicated his life to public service. His ideals of selfless service, social harmony, and national pride will continue to guide future generations.”

Home Minister Amit Shah shared, “I pay tribute to Jagannath Rao Joshi on his death anniversary. A key pillar of the Goa Liberation Movement and a patriot, he endured inhumane atrocities to abolish the ‘Permit Raj’ in Goa. His political acumen in expanding the ideals and organization of the BJP across the country will continue to inspire young leaders.”

Union Health Minister JP Nadda expressed, “I pay my deepest respects to Jagannath Rao Joshi, a senior leader of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh and a leading figure in the Goa Liberation Movement. His significant role in abolishing the permit system for Indians entering Goa will always be remembered. His remarkable contribution to making Goa an integral part of India is commendable. His dedicated life towards national unity, integrity, and cultural consciousness serves as an inspiration and ideal for every worker.”

BJP National President Nitin Naveen wrote, “I humbly pay tribute to Jagannath Rao Joshi, a fervent nationalist thinker and a leading fighter in the Goa Liberation Movement, known as ‘Karnataka Kesari.’”

He added, “Jagannath Rao Joshi actively participated in the Goa Liberation Movement, fighting against foreign rule. As an influential speaker and skilled organizer, he empowered nationalist ideology and directed the expansion of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh. His life, dedicated to the spirit of ‘Nation First,’ commitment to the organization, and national unity, continues to inspire every worker to advance on the path of national service with the resolve of ‘One India, Great India.’”

Karnataka BJP President Vijayendra Yediyurappa wrote, “I pay my humble tribute to Jagannath Rao Joshi, a senior leader who dedicated his entire life to national service, considering the nation as religion and organization as the path of life, and one of the founding members of the Jana Sangh.”

Vijayendra Yediyurappa also posted on ‘X’, “His unwavering dedication, commitment, and karma yoga towards organization and national service continue to inspire every party worker. The flame of nationalism he ignited still illuminates the hearts of millions of workers.”
