
Ranchi, July 17: A 28-year-old woman tragically took her own life in the Doranda police station area after a heated argument with her husband during a video call.
The police have sent the body for post-mortem and initiated an investigation into the incident. The deceased has been identified as Suman Kumari, a resident of the Jagannathpur area. She worked as a domestic helper at the residence of Pradeep Sen, located on Manitolak Kali Mandir Road in Doranda.
According to initial reports, Suman had a video call with her husband on Friday morning. During the call, they had a serious disagreement. Shortly after, she allegedly hanged herself in her room. Suman had married in February of this year, and her husband is employed in Bengaluru.
After the video call ended, her husband expressed concern and contacted Pradeep Sen’s family, asking them to check on Suman. When family members arrived at her room, they found the door locked from the inside. Upon entering, they discovered Suman hanging from the ceiling fan.
The Doranda police arrived at the scene shortly after receiving the report. They took possession of the body and sent it for post-mortem. Additionally, Suman’s mobile phone was seized for further investigation. According to the investigating officer, all aspects of the case are being examined. Call records, WhatsApp chats, and other digital evidence will be analyzed to determine the circumstances and potential causes of the incident.
Family members of the deceased arrived at the scene upon hearing the news. The family is in mourning over the loss of their daughter. The police stated that a clear conclusion regarding the cause and circumstances of death will be reached after reviewing the post-mortem report and digital evidence. Currently, a UD case has been registered, and further action is being taken.
