Patna, August 17: Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary has expressed sorrow over the tragic stampede that occurred at Ashok Dham in Lakhisarai. He stated that the news of the devotees’ deaths has left him deeply saddened. The Chief Minister has also directed the administration to ensure proper and prompt medical treatment for the injured.
In a post on the social media platform ‘X’, Chief Minister Chaudhary wrote, “The incident at Ashok Dham in Lakhisarai is extremely tragic and heart-wrenching. I am distressed by the news of the devotees’ deaths. My heartfelt condolences go out to the grieving families. Necessary instructions have been given to the administration for the proper and swift treatment of the injured. May God grant peace to the departed souls and quick recovery to the injured.”
Janata Dal (United) National Executive President Sanjay Kumar Jha also expressed his condolences regarding the fatalities during the stampede. He posted, “I am heartbroken. Om Shanti. I am deeply saddened by the news of several devotees’ deaths during the stampede at Ashok Dham temple this morning on the occasion of Shravan Monday.”
He added, “Our sympathies are with the bereaved families. I pray to God to grant them the strength to bear this immense sorrow and to ensure a swift recovery for the injured.”
Bihar’s Cooperation Minister Ram Kripal Yadav stated, “The news of the tragic incident in Lakhisarai, which claimed the lives of seven women, is extremely heartbreaking. I express my heartfelt tribute to the departed souls and my deep condolences to the grieving families. I pray to God for the swift recovery of the injured.”
It is reported that the stampede occurred near Ashok Dham temple on the third Monday of Shravan. Many devotees were caught in the chaos and trampled, leading to at least seven women’s deaths. More than 12 devotees were injured, and all are currently receiving treatment in the hospital.
