
Muzaffarnagar, July 20: A heartbreaking incident occurred in Muzaffarnagar district, Uttar Pradesh, amidst ongoing rainfall. In the village of Habibpur, located in the Fugana area, the roof of a house collapsed, trapping eight members of a single family under the debris. Tragically, five individuals, including four children, lost their lives.
Upon receiving news of the incident, police and administrative officials rushed to the scene. Fugana Circle Officer Narendra Yadav arrived with a police team to initiate rescue operations. Efforts were made to extricate those trapped, and the injured were transported to a hospital for treatment.
Rescue operations are ongoing, supported by local rescue teams and police administration. Senior administrative officials are also present at the site, overseeing the situation.
According to a police statement, following the report of the house collapse in the Fugana area, District Magistrate Umesh Mishra, Senior Superintendent of Police Sanjay Kumar Verma, and other officials arrived at the scene.
The police confirmed that one adult and four children died in the incident, while two others sustained injuries and are currently receiving medical care. Rescue operations continue.
Several districts in Uttar Pradesh are experiencing heavy rainfall, leading to multiple incidents. It has been reported that the continuous rain weakened the walls, resulting in this tragic collapse.
In the aftermath, senior officials from various districts arrived at the site and worked to clear the debris and recover the bodies. The deceased are believed to be from the same family, related as grandfather and grandchildren.
