Jaunpur, August 4: A tragic incident has occurred in Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh, where a severe road accident on the Varanasi-Jaunpur National Highway resulted in the deaths of two pilgrims and left three others injured.
According to reports, all individuals in the car were returning home to Unnao after visiting the Kashi Vishwanath temple in Varanasi. During their journey, the horrific accident took place, claiming two lives and injuring three others.
The collision occurred near Kulhanamau village in the Baksha police area, where a WagonR car lost control and crashed into a truck parked by the roadside. The impact was so intense that the front of the car became severely lodged in the truck. Upon receiving the information, police arrived at the scene and, with the help of local residents, extricated all five individuals trapped in the car and rushed them to the district hospital.
At the hospital, doctors pronounced Akhilesh Shukla and Ankit Shukla dead, while Shobhit Srivastava, Sandeep Mishra, and Shobhit Shukla are currently receiving treatment. Medical professionals have reported that the condition of the three injured individuals is stable.
According to police, all those involved in the accident are residents of the Housing Development Colony in Unnao. The authorities have taken possession of the bodies for post-mortem examinations and are investigating the causes of the accident while initiating legal proceedings.
Circle Officer Paramanand Kushwaha stated that around 5 AM on Monday, a report was received at the Baksha police station regarding the collision between a truck and a WagonR near Kulhanamau village on the Varanasi-Sultanpur Highway.
He confirmed that doctors declared two individuals dead after preliminary examinations, and treatment for the three injured is ongoing. The police are conducting further investigations and handling the post-mortem of the deceased.
