Abu Dhabi, March 26: The identities of the two individuals killed in a missile debris incident in the United Arab Emirates have been confirmed. According to officials, one victim was an Indian national and the other was from Pakistan. Among the injured, there is also an Indian citizen.
Abu Dhabi Media provided an update on the morning incident. Through a post on X, it was reported that after an air defense system successfully intercepted a ballistic missile, debris from the interception resulted in the deaths of the Pakistani and Indian nationals. Among the three injured, one is an Emirati, another is Jordanian, and the third is Indian. Their injuries range from serious to minor.
The media office has advised the public to remain vigilant and to seek information only from official sources to avoid misinformation.
Earlier on Thursday, it was reported that the missile was successfully intercepted; however, the falling debris led to the tragic deaths of two individuals and injuries to three others.
Officials believe that while the air defense system may destroy missiles in the air, the falling debris or wreckage still poses a threat to people on the ground.
The conflict between Iran and the US-Israel alliance has now entered its 27th day.
