Tragic Incidents in Jammu and Kashmir: Mother Injured in Shock, Elderly Woman Murdered
A mother jumped from a window after seeing her son hanging, while a 70-year-old woman was murdered in Pulwama, raising safety concerns.
Reasi, Jammu and Kashmir, October 19 (Daily Kiran) : In a series of tragic events in Jammu and Kashmir, a mother was severely injured after jumping from a window upon discovering her son hanging in Reasi district. This distressing incident occurred in the village of Bagodass in the Mahore tehsil on the night between October 18 and 19, when 20-year-old Mohammad Farooq was found lifeless in his home.
Authorities reported that upon seeing her son in such a state, his mother, identified as Basso Begum, leaped from the window in shock, sustaining serious injuries. Family members rushed her to the Government Medical College and Hospital in Jammu, where she is currently receiving treatment. The police have initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
In a separate incident early Monday morning, a 70-year-old woman was brutally murdered in her home in the village of Parigam, Pulwama. The attack occurred around 5 AM while the victim’s son was at a nearby mosque for morning prayers.
An official stated that intruders entered the home and fatally slit the woman’s throat, leaving her bloodied at the scene. The victim has been identified as Janna Begum. The motive behind this heinous act remains unclear. Authorities have launched an investigation to identify the assailants and to uncover the circumstances surrounding the murder.
