Tragic Collision on NH-27 Claims Four Lives in Madhubani

Patna, March 6: A tragic road accident in Madhubani district of Bihar resulted in the deaths of four individuals on Thursday. The incident occurred near Khopa Chowk on National Highway 27 in the Fulparash police station area.

According to police reports, a Mahindra Scorpio with Haryana registration collided violently with a truck. The impact was so severe that the Scorpio was completely wrecked.

Initial investigations revealed that the Scorpio was traveling from Darbhanga. Near Khopa Chowk, the vehicle suddenly crossed the divider and entered the wrong lane, leading to the collision with the oncoming truck.

Authorities believe that driving on the wrong side may have caused the accident. The truck driver and eyewitnesses are currently being questioned as part of the investigation.

The deceased have been identified as Sanjeev Kumar, Kapil Kumar, and Vikas Kumar, all from Kurukshetra district in Haryana. The identity of the fourth victim has yet to be determined.

Police stated that the occupants of the Scorpio were visiting Bihar. Efforts are underway to contact the vehicle’s owner based on its registration number. All bodies have been sent to Sadar Hospital in Madhubani for post-mortem examinations.

Station Officer Vikram Acharya reported that the collision was extremely forceful. One person died at the scene, while three others succumbed to their injuries en route to the hospital.

The injured were being transported to the sub-divisional hospital in Jhanjharpur. The truck driver is reported to be in stable condition.

Following the accident, traffic on NH-27 was disrupted for a period. Authorities later arranged alternative routes to restore normal traffic flow.

Currently, police are investigating whether the accident was due to negligence or lane violations.
