Tragic Cable Car Accident at Chhattisgarh Temple Claims One Life, Injures 16

Raipur, March 22: A tragic incident occurred at the Khallari Mata Temple in Chhattisgarh when a cable car suddenly malfunctioned and fell to the ground. This accident resulted in the death of one female devotee and left 16 others injured. The mishap took place as devotees were returning after prayers when a fault in the cable system was reported.

Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai expressed deep sorrow over the incident. He extended his condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for their strength to endure this profound loss.

On social media platform ‘X’, he wrote, “The news of the cable car accident at Khallari Mata Temple in Mahasamund district is extremely tragic and distressing. I am heartbroken by the report of a devotee’s death. My heartfelt sympathies are with the grieving family. I pray that the departed soul finds peace and that the family is granted the strength to bear this unbearable sorrow.”

The Chief Minister stated that upon receiving news of the accident, he instructed relevant officials to ensure proper treatment for the injured. A thorough investigation into the incident will be conducted, and those responsible will not be spared. He also prayed for the swift recovery of all injured devotees.

Witnesses reported that the cable car lost control and plummeted down a rocky slope, creating an atmosphere of panic and chaos among the passengers.

Screams filled the temple premises as devotees rushed to assist the injured. The police have not yet identified the deceased woman. Local authorities and residents promptly initiated rescue operations, transporting victims to hospitals using private vehicles.

Among the injured were children and elderly individuals. The large number of devotees present at the temple posed challenges for the administration in managing the situation.
