
Amaravati, June 14: A tragic incident occurred in the Krishna River in Andhra Pradesh’s Palnadu district on Sunday, resulting in the drowning of four individuals, including three children. The boat capsized near Konoor in the Achampet mandal.
According to police reports, ten family members were aboard the boat to attend a family function. While returning home, the boat overturned, leading to panic as everyone struggled to stay afloat. Local villagers managed to rescue six individuals, but four were reported missing.
With the assistance of villagers, the police launched a search operation. Tragically, the bodies of all four missing persons were later recovered. The deceased have been identified as Gandham Sandhya (9), Gandham Saini (10), Bathula Karthik (12), and Konath Chaitanya (28).
In a separate incident on the same day, three people lost their lives in a road accident in Siddipet district, Telangana. Police stated that a speeding car lost control while trying to avoid an elderly woman crossing the road in Duddeda village of the Kondapak mandal. The vehicle veered off the road and crashed into a nearby house.
The victims included the elderly woman Radhavva, another woman named Lakshmi sitting on the porch, and a young girl named Sahasra, all of whom died at the scene.
Following the accident, the driver and passengers fled the scene. The police have registered a case and initiated an investigation to locate the car’s owner.
Additionally, in another incident near Bengaluru, Karnataka, 20 passengers from Andhra Pradesh were injured when a state-run bus collided with a stationary truck. The bus, carrying 40 passengers, was traveling from Markapuram district to Bengaluru. Ten of the injured were admitted to a nearby hospital.
