Tragic Accident in Kerala: Three Killed in High-Speed Mini Cooper Crash

Nedumbassery, October 11 (Daily Kiran) : In a tragic incident in Nedumbassery, Kerala, three individuals lost their lives when a speeding Mini Cooper collided with their scooter on Sunday. The police have initiated a case of involuntary manslaughter against the driver, who is believed to have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.

The accident occurred as the Mini Cooper struck the scooter from behind. The three victims were returning home to Thrikkakara after visiting an antique shop in Kochi. Sadly, they died at the scene.

Authorities responded promptly, sending the bodies for autopsy and taking the driver, Suhail Sajeeb, into custody. The police confirmed that legal proceedings have begun against him for driving recklessly.

Reports indicate that Suhail admitted to consuming alcohol prior to the accident, claiming he had only drunk beer. Blood samples have been collected for scientific testing to determine if he was under the influence of any other substances.

Witnesses reported that after the crash, Suhail engaged in a heated argument with locals who attempted to open the car door. He allegedly stated that doing so would damage the car’s sensors and remarked that “no matter what happens, my father will handle everything.”

Police Deputy Commissioner Baiju Paulos confirmed that the vehicle is registered in Suhail’s father’s name, and he possesses a valid driving license. Results from the scientific investigation regarding potential substance use are still pending.
