Tragic Accident in Ambedkarnagar Claims Eight Lives

New Delhi, May 4: A series of tragic incidents have unfolded across various states in India over the past week. From the Jabalpur cruise disaster to the Vivek Vihar fire in Delhi, many families have lost their loved ones forever. In a devastating road accident on Sunday night in Ambedkarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, at least eight people lost their lives, with several others injured.

On Monday, police reported the details of the incident. According to authorities, around 11 PM on Sunday, two motorcycles collided head-on near Ashrafpur Bhuwa village on the Jalalpur-Akbarpur road, leaving both riders severely injured. Hearing the crash, local residents and passersby rushed to assist the victims and arranged for their transportation to the hospital. During this chaotic scene, a speeding car coming from Jalalpur lost control and crashed into the gathered crowd, hitting multiple people.

The injured were immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where six were declared dead upon arrival. Two others, who were critically injured, were referred to a higher medical center but unfortunately succumbed to their injuries later.

Additional Superintendent of Police (East) Tejveer Singh stated that the initial motorcycle collision attracted a crowd, which led to the larger tragedy when the car struck. The area was thrown into chaos following the incident. A police team arrived on the scene, and the deceased were sent for post-mortem examinations. An investigation into the matter is ongoing.

Earlier, in Siddharthnagar, five children climbed a water tank to make a reel, but a dilapidated ladder collapsed as they attempted to descend. Three children—Siddharth (13), Golu (14), and Sunny (11)—fell nearly 50 feet, while two others became trapped above. They were rescued with the help of an Indian Air Force helicopter on Sunday morning. Tragically, one child lost their life, and two others sustained injuries.
