Gang of Six Arrested for Home Invasion Robbery in Ranchi

Six members of a robbery gang have been arrested in Ranchi, recovering cash and vehicles linked to a recent home invasion.

Ranchi, October 23 (Daily Kiran) : A police investigation in Ranchi has led to the arrest of six individuals involved in a home invasion robbery that occurred on October 13 in the Adarsh Nagar Colony near the Ring Road. The gang targeted the residence of Ramshankar Prasad Singh, making off with cash and valuables.

Authorities have identified a total of 14 suspects in connection with the crime. The arrested individuals were found in possession of ₹4.24 lakh in cash, eight Android mobile phones, and two vehicles—a Scorpio and an Innova—that were used during the robbery. However, the stolen jewelry has not yet been recovered.

According to police reports, the armed criminals struck the Singh residence around 7 AM, escaping after the theft. Following the incident, local police initiated an investigation. Recognizing the seriousness of the case, the Senior Superintendent of Police established a special task force for a more thorough inquiry.

Investigators discovered that the gang had conducted surveillance on the house prior to the robbery, monitoring the location since August. This careful planning involved arranging vehicles and weapons for the operation. Utilizing technical analysis and physical evidence, police were able to identify the suspects.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Bir Bahadur Singh, Sudhir Kumar, Kammo Devi, Chandrashekhar Pandey, Sumit Kumar Singh, and Rajneesh Singh. They were captured in various locations, including the Bariyatu, Daladli, and Sukdevnagar police jurisdictions. Authorities are actively pursuing the remaining suspects involved in the incident.

After the robbery, the criminals fled in the Innova, later abandoning the vehicle in the Pithoria police area. The Innova was subsequently recovered in an abandoned state near Kokdoro Chowk, along with the Scorpio.

Police reports indicate that two of the arrested suspects, Bir Bahadur Singh and Rajneesh Singh, have prior criminal records. Singh has a case registered against him in 2021 in the Barhara police station of Bihar’s Bhojpur district, while Rajneesh Singh has a 2020 case in the Patratu police station of Ramgarh district. Investigators continue to question the arrested suspects as the investigation progresses.
