
Trinidad, August 27: In a thrilling encounter of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2026, the St. Lucia Kings triumphed over the Trinbago Knight Riders by 36 runs. The match, held at the Brian Lara Stadium, showcased an explosive century from opener Tim Seifert, which was pivotal to St. Lucia’s success.
St. Lucia set a daunting target of 212 runs for Trinbago. However, the Knight Riders struggled in their chase, managing only 175 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their allotted 20 overs.
Trinbago’s veteran all-rounder Kieron Pollard made a valiant effort, scoring a rapid half-century. He hit 5 sixes and 6 fours in his innings of 65 runs off just 26 balls. Colin Munro, who opened the batting, contributed 48 runs from 35 balls, including 2 sixes and 6 fours. Sunil Narine also chipped in with 25 runs off 14 balls.
The Knight Riders’ downfall was exacerbated by poor performances from captain Nicholas Pooran (0), Matthew Britzke (0), and Matthew Tromp, who managed only 15 runs off 26 balls.
