Three Suspended AAP Legislators Join BJP in New Delhi
Three suspended AAP legislators have joined the BJP, raising questions about party stability in Punjab.

New Delhi, November 2 (Daily Kiran) : In a significant political shift, three suspended legislators from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) have joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at a party office in New Delhi. The former AAP members—Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh, Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra, and Chetan Singh Jauramajra—officially made the switch on Monday.
Punjab BJP President, Keval Singh Dhillon, expressed his enthusiasm about the new additions, stating, “The BJP’s ranks are growing every day. We are thrilled to welcome Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh, Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra, and Chetan Singh Jauramajra. My heartfelt thanks to them. The AAP is a sinking ship.”
The AAP had previously expelled both Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra and Chetan Singh Jauramajra from the party. Following their expulsion, the AAP plans to request the assembly speaker to annul their memberships. Both legislators have also resigned from the AAP.
Recently, AAP legislators from two assembly seats in Punjab’s Patiala district submitted their resignations. The party clarified that these actions were disciplinary measures against the two members.
Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra, who represented the Sanour constituency in the Punjab Assembly, resigned from the AAP after the party took action against him. He was elected as a legislator in the 2022 Punjab Assembly elections. Reports indicate that he adopted a confrontational stance against his own government, leading to his resignation.
Chetan Singh Jauramajra, representing Samana, also announced his resignation via social media. He resigned from the primary membership of the AAP after noticing that his name was absent from the party’s recent candidate list.
Jauramajra won his seat in the 2022 elections with a significant majority and previously served as a cabinet minister in the Bhagwant Mann government.
Additionally, Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh, a suspended legislator and former IPS officer, has submitted his resignation from the Punjab Assembly. He has sent his resignation to the assembly speaker, Kuldeep Singh Sandhwan.
In response to the situation, Punjab AAP state president Aman Arora commented on social media, “The Aam Aadmi Party has always prioritized Punjab. If any of our leaders have engaged in corruption or acted against the interests of Punjab, we have taken action without hesitation, expelling such individuals from the party.”
