Thousands Participate in Sunday on Cycle Rally in New Delhi, Minister Advocates Daily Cycling

New Delhi, June 7: In celebration of ‘World Bicycle Day,’ the ‘Fit India Sunday on Cycle’ event took place at the JLN Stadium. The event saw participation from Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Mansukh Mandaviya, along with actor Vikrant Massey, boxer Nupur Sheoran, and actress-model Ragini Dwivedi.

Mansukh Mandaviya remarked, “Today marks the 77th edition of ‘Sunday on Cycle.’ I am delighted to see that when I initiated this event, there were only 50 cyclists at this stadium, and now we have thousands. It seems the nation is embracing cycling.”

He emphasized the numerous benefits of cycling, stating that it promotes mental health, protects the environment, and conserves fuel. “We should make cycling a part of our daily routine,” he urged.

Mandaviya encouraged everyone to commit to cycling not just on Sundays but every day. Whether it’s a trip to the vegetable market, a nearby office, or a cricket match, he urged people to opt for bicycles.

In a separate cycling rally held in Janakpuri, Delhi’s Education Minister Ashish Sood participated, promoting fitness and environmental conservation. He inspired individuals of all ages to adopt a healthy lifestyle through cycling.

Sood mentioned that regular cycling keeps the body fit, improves health, and saves on fuel costs. He called on citizens to increase their use of bicycles in daily life.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from children, youth, and senior citizens alike, all supporting the Fit India campaign by cycling together.
