
Dhanbad, March 24: Tensions escalated in the Singiyatand village of Dhanbad, Jharkhand, following rumors about the discovery of animal remains. On Monday, the situation became tense as members of two communities confronted each other after reports surfaced about the presence of banned meat in a secluded area of the village.
As news spread, a large crowd gathered, leading to chants and accusations that heightened the atmosphere. Amidst the chaos, some anti-social elements attempted to incite the crowd, further complicating the situation.
Upon receiving information, Station House Officer Satyajit Kumar arrived at the scene with police forces. He tried to calm the crowd and restore order, but a portion of the agitated crowd began to resist the police.
During this time, there was physical altercation with the station officer, and attempts were made to encircle the police team. In response to the escalating tensions, the police resorted to a mild lathi charge, which caused panic and dispersed the crowd. This timely action prevented a potential major clash.
In light of the seriousness of the incident, senior officials in the district have become actively involved. The administration has deployed additional police forces to maintain peace in the area. Furthermore, patrols in sensitive locations have been intensified. Authorities have instructed vigilance over misleading and inflammatory information circulating on social media. Citizens are urged to disregard any rumors and cooperate with the administration to uphold law and order. Currently, the situation in the area is reported to be under control.
