Hyderabad, March 6: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revant Reddy announced plans to promote night tourism along the Musi River in Hyderabad on Friday. He reiterated the state government’s initiative to develop the riverbanks.
The promotion of night tourism is expected to create jobs and boost economic activities in the region. Reddy made these remarks during the inauguration of the Eco Hill Park in Kothwalguda.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone for the Radial Road-2 interchange, which will connect to Budwel Layout. This project aims to enhance road connectivity and improve urban infrastructure in the area.
Amid ongoing criticism from the opposition Bharat Rashtra Samithi and the Bharatiya Janata Party, Reddy defended the Musi Riverbank project, which they claim will displace many residents. He emphasized that no one wishes to live in a polluted environment.
Reddy acknowledged that new development projects can sometimes cause difficulties for certain communities. However, he assured that the state government would not leave affected individuals helpless. He stated that those losing land or homes due to development would receive full support, and displaced families would be provided with comprehensive rehabilitation and facilities.
The Chief Minister expressed the government’s commitment to restoring the city’s beauty and making it one of the greatest cities in the world. He remarked that while efforts to improve the city may face opposition, it is essential to pursue progress.
To adopt best practices in city planning, representatives have been sent abroad to study international urban development models. Reddy referenced the development of Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad, which initially faced opposition but has now become a vital asset for the city and state.
He also announced that Shamshabad will become a hub for the bullet train, with proposed high-speed rail connectivity from Hyderabad to Bengaluru, Amaravati, and Chennai.
