Telangana Allocates ₹50,713 Crore for Six Key Schemes in 2026-27 Budget

Hyderabad, March 21: The Congress government in Telangana has allocated ₹50,713 crore for six key schemes in the state budget for 2026-27. This decision was made on Friday to fulfill various promises made during the 2023 elections.

Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka announced the allocation for nine schemes under these six initiatives. The budget allocation for these schemes has decreased from ₹56,084 crore in the 2025-26 budget to ₹50,713 crore this year.

Among the allocations, ₹18,000 crore has been set aside for the Rythu Bandhu scheme, which provides farmers with an annual investment assistance of up to ₹10,000 per acre.

The government has allocated ₹14,861 crore for the Cheyutha social security pension scheme. Additionally, ₹5,500 crore has been earmarked for the Indiramma Housing scheme, which is lower than the ₹12,571 crore allocated in the previous budget.

Vikramarka also announced ₹4,305 crore for the Mahalakshmi scheme, which offers free travel for women on RTC buses, and ₹2,080 crore for the Griha Jyoti scheme, which provides free electricity for up to 200 units.

Farmers will receive a bonus of ₹3,500 crore for their agricultural produce, along with ₹1,143 crore allocated for the Rajiv Aarogyasri scheme.

The budget also includes ₹723 crore for the ₹500 per LPG cylinder scheme and ₹600 crore for the Indiramma Aamodhi scheme, which provides ₹12,000 annually to landless laborers.

Furthermore, Finance Minister Vikramarka has allocated ₹94,878 crore for other significant schemes. This includes ₹14,000 crore for electricity subsidies for farmers, ₹4,343 crore for scholarships, ₹2,170 crore for midday meal programs, ₹3,683 crore for the Kalyana Lakshmi/Shadi Mubarak scheme, and ₹3,000 crore for rice subsidies.
