Mumbai, August 1: Actress Tanishree Dutta shared her thoughts on the ongoing Gen Z protests through social media on Saturday. In a video posted on Instagram, she emphasized the need for greater focus on national security and border issues while urging the youth to express their anger responsibly.
In the video, Dutta stated, “Currently, the resignation of any major official could be detrimental to the country. We are surrounded by tensions on all sides, especially at the Bangladesh and China borders. The Bangladesh border is not completely sealed, as the issues there have started to subside. Therefore, some protests are inevitable. PM Modi and Amit Shah had worked together to seal the Bangladesh border, which has now brought these issues to the forefront. I am not saying that there was no reason for the student movement, but that issue has been resolved. The main concern has been addressed.”
She continued, “It is difficult to trust a new person at this time. Who knows when the border issues might arise again? People need to understand that now is not the time for change. Let those in charge do their jobs because taking command is not a two-day task. Changing leadership now would mean weakening our country on border matters. Our enemies want us to be vulnerable regarding borders. The anger of Gen Z due to the paper leak is justified, but that issue is being resolved. If leadership is working, why escalate the matter further? The border crossings that were occurring have now ceased, so will there be action taken against those who halted them?”
In her video post, she wrote, “Gen Z has a gun on their shoulder, and the target is India.”
Dutta further noted, “The reform of the education system has begun. Now, we should focus on securing our borders and other essential tasks.”
She advised the younger generation, “It is not right to disrupt a functioning government system based on anger and crowd sentiment. Gen Z should have expressed their frustration responsibly. We all love Gen Z, and the entire nation recognizes their importance. Everyone wants the best for them, as they are the future of our country. The leadership teams are working hard to keep us safe and comfortable in India.”
In her message to Gen Z, she concluded, “Understand the issues well; politics is not always black and white. It often exists in a gray area, so be cautious about whom you trust.”
