Tamil Nadu Weather Shift: Fog in West, Light Rain in South Expected

Chennai, February 4 – The people of Tamil Nadu can expect varied weather conditions over the next two days. According to the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC), the state will experience mild cold, fog in some areas during mornings, and light rainfall in a few regions.

The weather department has forecast moderate fog in the western and north-western districts during early morning hours. Particularly, residents of hilly and interior areas may face dense fog in the dawn and early morning hours. Districts such as Nilgiris, Salem, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Tirupattur, Vellore, and Ranipet are likely to witness fog.

Fog may reduce visibility, causing difficulties for drivers on highways and ghat roads. Authorities have advised people to exercise caution while travelling in the mornings.

Meanwhile, compared to the foggy conditions in the west, southern Tamil Nadu and the fertile delta districts are expected to receive light rain on Thursday. The meteorological centre has predicted light drizzles at one or two places in these areas. Coastal regions like Karaikal may also see brief rainfall.

The rainfall is not expected to be heavy but could provide some relief from the prolonged dry spell. This may benefit standing crops in agricultural areas.

The rest of the state and the Union Territory of Puducherry are likely to remain dry. Most places will have clear or partly cloudy skies with no major rainfall expected.

In the meantime, a slight rise in temperature has been indicated in interior Tamil Nadu. Officials have noted that the maximum temperature after Thursday may stay a bit above normal, resulting in a distinct difference between daytime warmth and morning chill.

Chennai is likely to experience partly cloudy skies with no heavy rain anticipated. The city may have mild warmth during the day and pleasant weather in the evening.

The meteorological department has urged travellers, farmers, and the general public to keep an eye on local forecasts and take necessary precautions.
