Mumbai, March 16: The buzz around the Oscars is palpable worldwide. Meanwhile, the 7th Sarasa Salil Bhojpuri Cinema Awards 2026 took place, celebrating the remarkable talents in Bhojpuri cinema.

Actress Swastika Rai received the Best Child Actress award for her outstanding performance in the film “Bin Piya Doli Bin Piya Gawana.” Released in 2025, her portrayal in the film has been widely praised. On Monday, Swastika expressed her gratitude to her entire team via her official Instagram account.

She shared photos from the ceremony, stating, “I am honored to receive the Best Child Actress award for my wonderful film ‘Bin Piya Doli Bin Piya Gawana’ at the 7th Sarasa Salil Awards. I sincerely thank our producer Avinash Rohra, director Praveen Guduri, Sanjana Ma’am, and the entire team for their love and support, without which this award would be incomplete. Special thanks to Vivek Bhaiya, Brihaspati Uncle, Bhanu Sir, and the whole Sarasa Salil team for showering me with so much love and respect. Mahadev.”

Director Praveen Kumar Guduri highlighted critical issues such as child marriage through the film. It sheds light on the lives of young girls who are married off at an early age and often become widows, leading to a bleak and sorrowful existence.

The film poignantly portrays the stigma of child marriage and the ensuing hardships faced by girls, showcasing the emotional turmoil and societal pressures that color their lives. Produced by Sandeep Singh and Avinash Rohra, the film’s music, satellite, and digital partnerships are handled by ‘B4U Bhojpuri.’ Swastika takes center stage as the child protagonist, while Sanjana Pandey plays the role of an older girl.

The cast also includes Prashant Singh, Aryan Babu, Prem Dubey, Anup Arora, Anita Rawat, Dholu Yadav, Srishti Pathak, Sahil Sheikh, Prerna Sushma, Shraddhanjali Yadav, Santosh Srivastava, Kanchan Mishra, Nisha Tiwari, and Ravi Tiwari in significant roles.
