Suspicious Explosion Near Railway Track in Sri Ganganagar Raises Security Concerns

A suspicious explosion near Sri Ganganagars railway track has damaged pillars, prompting an investigation by authorities.

Sri Ganganagar, November 4 (Daily Kiran) : A suspicious explosion occurred late Tuesday night near the Anupgarh-Suratgarh railway line in Sri Ganganagar district, Rajasthan. The blast, which took place close to the village of 50 GB, resulted in significant damage to two cement pillars located beneath the railway track.

The intensity of the explosion was such that rebar from the pillars was ejected. Authorities suspect that the incident may have been an attempt to damage the railway track. Shortly after a train passed from Anupgarh to Suratgarh, a loud explosion was reported near the railway line. Investigators found the two cement pillars severely damaged, with exposed rebar indicating the extent of the blast.

Upon receiving reports of the incident, railway and police officials quickly arrived at the scene, led by Sri Ganganagar’s Superintendent of Police, Harishankar. The SP conducted an on-site inspection and gathered information from relevant officers. He announced that a team from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) has been called in to investigate the matter.

While the investigation is underway, the SP cautioned against jumping to conclusions too quickly. The police are exploring all possible angles as they compile a team to thoroughly investigate the incident, promising swift action against anyone found culpable.

This event follows a recent seizure of approximately 7.5 kilograms of RDX in the border area, raising alarms among security agencies regarding the suspicious explosion. Authorities are also examining the reasons behind the damage to the pillars. The true cause of the explosion will likely be revealed following the FSL team’s analysis and expert reports. In the meantime, security measures along the railway route have been heightened, with police closely monitoring the situation.
