Sunil Jakhar Criticizes AAP, Exposes True Face of the Party

Chandigarh, March 31: Punjab BJP President Sunil Jakhar has launched a sharp attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). He stated that despite the relief granted to MLA Manjinder Singh Sirsa in a 13-year-old case involving the assault and harassment of a Dalit woman, the incident has revealed the party’s true face.

In a post on his social media account, Jakhar emphasized that even though Sirsa was acquitted under a ‘settlement’, the long battle fought by the victim has exposed the ugly reality of AAP to the public.

Jakhar recalled that when the incident occurred in 2013, he raised the issue in the assembly as the leader of the opposition. Despite strong opposition from the government, he brought the victim to the assembly, leading to significant uproar. This advocacy even resulted in the formation of a privilege committee aimed at revoking his assembly membership.

He sarcastically noted that another name has now been added to the list of AAP legislators and ministers who roam around with a ‘clean chit’ from the government. However, he questioned whether these individuals can truly consider themselves morally upright, given the public injustice and assault faced by the victim. Whether it concerns corruption or the character of AAP leaders, such cases continue to unveil their disgraceful reality.

Jakhar further stated, “Everyone knows that the wheels of justice turn slowly, but they grind fine. A considerable amount of time has passed since this incident, yet I take solace in the fact that I stood with the victims, the poor, and the oppressed back then, and my struggle for justice continues with the same dedication today.”
