Mumbai, July 1: Singer Rishabh Kant, known as ‘The Rish,’ has expressed his admiration for legendary playback singer Alka Yagnik. The two collaborated on the popular song “Apna Chehra Dikha,” which Kant wrote and composed, released under the T-Series music label. In a recent interview, he reminisced about his early collaboration with Yagnik.
Speaking about the experience, Rishabh Kant said, “When I was very young, I had the opportunity to hear a tune I created in the voice of a great singer like Alka Yagnik. It felt like a dream come true. I was astonished and found it hard to believe that such a prominent artist was lending her voice to my music.”
He added, “That song was recorded years ago in my father’s studio. At that time, I was learning music production, and it was a significant opportunity for me. However, I chose not to release it immediately. I wanted to wait until people recognized me as an artist.”
Rishabh Kant expressed his surprise at how quickly Alka Yagnik recorded the song. “While I spent a long time creating and perfecting the song, she recorded it effortlessly in a short session. For her, it was just another recording, but for me, it was a lifelong dream coming to fruition.”
He continued, “This experience taught me the most important lesson in the music industry: professionalism. Alka Yagnik’s ease, discipline, and confidence showed me that a true artist is recognized not just for their talent but also for their dedication to their work. This experience was a valuable lesson for me.”
It’s worth noting that Rishabh Kant made his debut as a lyricist and composer with the song “Barbad” in the 2025 film “Saiyara,” directed by Mohit Suri.
