Strict Action by Labor Department in Gautam Buddh Nagar: 43 Contractors Notified, 10 Licenses Revoked

Mumbai, April 19: The Labor Department has taken a firm stance in Gautam Buddh Nagar to protect workers’ rights and maintain industrial peace. Under the leadership of Additional Labor Commissioner Rakesh Dwivedi, a special campaign has been launched against contractors violating labor laws.

The Additional Labor Commissioner reported that inspections and enforcement actions are ongoing across various industrial units in the district. On Saturday, notices were issued to 43 contractors for breaching labor laws. Serious irregularities were found regarding workers’ wages, safety standards, working hours, and other labor regulations during these inspections.

He further stated that in cases of severe violations, licenses for 10 contractors have been revoked with immediate effect. Additionally, a letter has been sent to the Labor Commissioner of Uttar Pradesh to blacklist these contractors, preventing them from participating in any government or private projects in the future.

Officials clarified that this action is not a one-time event but part of an ongoing campaign. Reviews were conducted based on previously issued notices, and stringent measures were taken against contractors who failed to make necessary improvements. The Labor Department emphasized that maintaining order in the district’s industrial units and protecting workers’ rights is their top priority.

The department also warned that any contractor or establishment not complying with labor laws will face similar strict actions. In conclusion, the Additional Labor Commissioner urged all industrial units, contractors, and relevant parties to fully adhere to labor laws. He stated that negligence in compliance will not be tolerated, and more severe actions may be taken in the future.
