
New Delhi, March 27: A tragic stabbing incident has resulted in the death of a young man in the Kashmiri Colony area of Hiranki. The police at the Alipur police station received reports of the incident and have since apprehended the suspect involved.
Upon receiving the murder report, a team of senior police officials promptly arrived at the scene. Investigations revealed that the injured man had already been admitted to Burari Hospital.
The police team rushed to the hospital, where the victim was pronounced dead. The deceased was identified as Arun Kumar, approximately 22 years old, a resident of Burari. He came from a low-income family, with his father working as a rickshaw driver. Family members disclosed that Arun had developed a drug addiction during his teenage years, leading them to enroll him in a rehabilitation center. A case has been registered at the Alipur police station regarding this incident.
Considering the severity of the crime, a dedicated team was formed under Inspector Vivek. The suspect, identified as Arun Joshi, approximately 27 years old, hails from Keshav Puram, Delhi. The police recovered the weapon used in the crime, a knife, from him. During questioning, the suspect admitted that a dispute had occurred between him and the victim a few days prior to the incident.
Further investigations revealed that the stabbing took place inside a de-addiction center named “Kirandeep Foundation,” which currently houses around 27 drug addicts.
Arun Joshi completed his Chemical Engineering degree in 2019 from Guru Nanak Dev Institute of Technology in Rohini, Delhi. His father operates a medical shop nearby. During the inquiry, it was disclosed that Joshi had developed a substance abuse habit since his college days in 2015. He had been admitted to the Kirandeep Foundation de-addiction center in Hiranki, Delhi, for treatment and rehabilitation about nine months ago.
