PM Modi Witnesses Surya Tilak Ceremony on Ram Navami, Seeks Blessings from Lord Ram

New Delhi, March 27: Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in the ‘Surya Tilak’ ceremony at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple in Ayodhya on the occasion of Ram Navami. He viewed the sacred event via television and prayed for the welfare of the nation under the blessings of Lord Ram.

Ram Navami celebrates the birth of Lord Ram. This festival occurs during Chaitra Navratri and provides an opportunity to reflect on values such as truth, compassion, and righteousness.

On the social media platform X, PM Modi expressed that he witnessed the Surya Tilak ceremony at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple in Ayodhya. He wished that the blessings of Lord Ram remain with everyone.

Earlier, the Prime Minister extended his greetings to the nation on Ram Navami, stating that the ideals of sacrifice, penance, and virtue exemplified by Lord Ram inspire us to move forward with strength in every circumstance. He expressed confidence that Lord Ram’s blessings will guide India in fulfilling its resolve to become a ‘developed’ and ‘self-reliant’ nation.

The Surya Tilak ceremony involves sunlight reaching the idol of Ram Lalla’s head through a special technique, which holds significant religious importance. This event has become a major attraction for devotees at the Ram temple in Ayodhya.

Notably, the Surya Tilak ceremony during the first Ram Navami after the grand inauguration of the temple in 2024 garnered widespread attention both nationally and internationally. A large number of devotees flocked to Ayodhya to witness this remarkable sight, which lasted for about three minutes.

Lord Ram is regarded as a symbol of truth, righteousness, and duty. His life continues to inspire millions to follow the path of morality and ideals, especially on auspicious occasions like Ram Navami.
