Special Voter Registration Camps Scheduled in Gautam Buddh Nagar

Special voter registration camps will be held on October 17 and 24 in Gautam Buddh Nagar to ensure all eligible citizens can register.

Gautam Buddh Nagar, October 16 (Daily Kiran) : A meeting was held on October 16 in Gautam Buddh Nagar to discuss a special brief revision program for assembly electoral rolls. Chaired by the District Electoral Officer, the meeting took place at the NIC auditorium and included representatives from recognized political parties. They discussed the revision of the voter list, the registration of new voters, and preparations for the special campaign.

The District Electoral Officer emphasized that no eligible voter should miss the opportunity to register during this campaign. The revision will be based on the eligibility date of January 1, 2027, allowing citizens who missed earlier registrations and first-time voters to enroll on October 17 and 24, 2026. On both days, booth-level officers (BLOs) will be available at all polling stations from 10 AM to 4 PM. Help desks will be set up at each polling center to assist citizens with the application process.

BLOs will have necessary forms, including Form-6, as well as the electoral rolls and supplementary lists. Eligible citizens can apply to include their names in the voter list at these special camps.

The meeting also outlined the schedule set by the Election Commission for the revision process. According to officials, the rationalization and reorganization of polling stations must be completed by November 2. The integrated draft electoral rolls will be published on November 12. Claims and objections can be submitted from November 12 to December 11, with resolutions expected by December 28, 2026. The final publication of the electoral rolls will occur on January 4, 2027.

As per the timeline, electoral registration officers are tasked with physically verifying polling stations and submitting draft lists to the district electoral office by October 18. A follow-up meeting with political party representatives will take place on October 19 to discuss the draft list and gather suggestions and objections.

The District Electoral Officer has instructed registration officials and BLOs to ensure that information about the special revision program reaches as many citizens as possible. They are encouraged to collaborate with the presidents of Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) and Apartment Owners Associations (AOAs). Special emphasis is placed on informing eligible citizens, particularly youth and first-time voters, about the registration process.

It is crucial for every eligible citizen to register in the voter list, and there will be a concerted effort to disseminate information about the campaign dates, application procedures, and required documents. The officials, BLOs, political representatives, and society management are urged to work together to ensure that no eligible individual misses the chance to become a voter.

The District Electoral Officer also directed that all electoral tasks be completed transparently, systematically, and on time. The meeting was attended by Deputy Collector and Assistant District Electoral Officer Arun Kumar, Sub-District Magistrate Ashutosh Gupta, and Sub-District Magistrate Durgesh Singh.

Representatives from various political parties, including the Bharatiya Janata Party, Communist Party of India (Marxist), Bahujan Samaj Party, Samajwadi Party, and Congress, participated in the meeting. The District Electoral Officer appealed to all recognized political parties and residential societies for active cooperation in the special brief revision program. The administration aims to update the voter list according to the schedule and ensure every eligible citizen has the opportunity to register.
