
Bengaluru, July 15: The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) campaign is gaining momentum in Vijayanagar district, Karnataka. According to district administration, significant progress is being made in the special revision of the voter list.
District Commissioner (DC) Kavita S. Mannikeri personally inspected the operations of the SIR helpline. She tested the helpline by calling and directly engaging with the SIR helpline across six taluks, including Kudligi, Hadagali, and Hagaribommanahalli, ensuring that voters receive accurate information and assistance.
The administration reports that 1,234 Booth Level Officers (BLOs) are actively involved in the SIR campaign, with a total of 1,142,232 registered voters in the district.
The administration has confirmed that 100% of the forms have been distributed to voters, with 80% of the forms already returned. Of the returned forms, 42.12% have been digitized, while 56.95% remain to be processed. The administration is working diligently to expedite this process.
During the SIR process, several critical facts regarding voter verification have emerged. So far, 3,619 voters have been identified as having permanently relocated, and 5,228 deceased voters have been confirmed. Additionally, 1,632 duplicate voters have been identified.
The district administration states that efforts to accelerate the SIR process are ongoing. The aim is to make the voter list more accurate, updated, and transparent through the helpline, booth-level officers, and digital processes.
