South Indian Stars Surya and Jyothika Renew Their Vows After 20 Years of Marriage

Mumbai, September 16 (Daily Kiran) : In a heartwarming celebration of love, acclaimed South Indian actors Surya and Jyothika have renewed their wedding vows to mark their 20th anniversary. The couple, who originally tied the knot on September 11, 2006, held a private ceremony in Mumbai, where they exchanged promises once again, this time in a Christian wedding format.

Jyothika shared a charming video of the event on Instagram, showcasing her in a stunning white gown as she walked towards the church with their son, while their daughter stood alongside Surya. The emotional ceremony featured the couple reaffirming their commitment to each other, accompanied by a montage of their wedding memories.

In her post, Jyothika expressed, “Celebrating 20 years of love and conflict, with vows taken once more.” She elaborated on the essence of their relationship, stating, “This is not a celebration of a perfect marriage, but rather one of flaws, compromises, understanding, sacrifices, and selfless love. This celebration is ours, a tribute to who we have become for each other.”

Reflecting on their journey, she shared, “It’s strange that a dream once far from reality is now the life I wish to live forever. I vow to choose happiness, to celebrate life, and to appreciate the gift of love from someone who respects me more than I do myself. I promise never to complain.”

Jyothika emphasized that no relationship is flawless, acknowledging that everything in life is incomplete. She remarked, “In this world, everything is unfinished. It’s up to us to fill those gaps. I am grateful to wake up every morning in the arms of someone who protects me and to our beautiful children who give my life meaning.”

Using the metaphor of homes built from bricks, she illustrated that imperfections exist everywhere and simply need tending. “I vow to stay healthy, as that is the true wealth we create. Even the grandest homes require maintenance. I promise to be the best mother, not just through cooking or cleaning, but by smiling—a smile that allows my children to relive the stories their parents have experienced.”

Jyothika concluded her heartfelt message to Surya, stating, “My Surya, I vow to remain that silly wife who argues and then concedes, just to be closer to you. I cherish our friendship, for it is rare to find a partner who is also your confidant and best friend. Here’s to the next twenty years, incomplete yet filled with understanding.”
