Tejashwi Yadav Criticizes Bihar Government Over Rising Crime and Corruption
Tejashwi Yadav condemns Bihars deteriorating law and order, highlighting crime and unemployment issues in a recent media briefing.

Patna, October 15 (Daily Kiran) : Tejashwi Yadav, the national executive president of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and leader of the opposition in the Bihar Assembly, launched a scathing attack on the state government on Thursday. He cited the recent murder of a police officer in Nalanda and the killing of a former official in Ara as evidence of the state’s failing law and order. “There is no semblance of law enforcement left in Bihar. Criminals are rampant, and no one is safe—be it young girls, traders, youth, or the elderly,” he stated.
In a media interaction, Yadav criticized Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, claiming that the lack of vision and a roadmap from the leadership is contributing to the state’s decline. He predicted that crime rates would escalate in the coming months. Yadav also addressed issues of unemployment, poverty, and inflation, asserting that the education and health systems in Bihar have collapsed, leaving the state’s treasury empty.
He accused the government of rampant corruption, alleging that favoritism is rampant in transfers and postings within the administration. “Those who pay for it are getting the best positions,” he remarked. Yadav further criticized the Chief Minister for lacking the dignity and knowledge required for the role. He raised concerns about the ration system and inflation, stating that people are struggling to receive basic food items like wheat and rice.
He emphasized that merely receiving grains does not fulfill nutritional needs, as essential items like vegetables, spices, and oil are also required. The rising prices of these necessities are adding to the hardships faced by ordinary citizens, he noted. Additionally, he expressed deep sorrow over a recent boat accident in Raghopur, Vaishali district, which resulted in the loss of several children’s lives. “This is a heartbreaking incident that should never happen to any family,” he said.
Yadav highlighted the profound impact of the tragedy on entire generations, describing the scenes at the accident site as devastating. He called for a fair investigation into the incident and demanded action against those responsible. Furthermore, he insisted that each affected family should be granted at least three decimals of land. He mentioned that he would write to the Chief Minister regarding this demand. Yadav also conveyed that RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav is deeply saddened by the event, despite his health issues, and expressed a desire to meet with the grieving families. On Thursday, Lalu met with the victims’ families to express his condolences and assure them of RJD’s support.
