Mumbai, August 14 (Kiran News): The Ajay Devgn and Mrunal Thakur starrer comedy-drama Son of Sardar 2, which hit theatres on August 1, has failed to live up to expectations. Despite being launched with high hopes, the film has shown a weak performance from its opening day, and its box office earnings have now dropped to the lakhs. Trade analysts suggest it may soon be pulled from cinemas.

According to box office tracker Sacnilk, the film earned only ₹75 lakh on its 13th day (second Wednesday), taking its total collection to ₹45.12 crore. Directed by Vijay Kumar Arora, the film also stars Neeru Bajwa, Kubbra Sait, Deepak Dobriyal, Sahil Mehta, Chunky Panday, and Ravi Kishan alongside the lead pair.
Son of Sardar 2 has been facing tough competition at the box office. Ahaan Panday and Aneeth Padda’s Saiyaara has maintained its dominance for four consecutive weeks, while Dhadak 2 starring Triptii Dimri and Siddhant Chaturvedi is also running in theatres but struggling with low collections. Adding to the challenge, Hrithik Roshan’s War 2 and Rajinikanth’s Coolie released on August 14, intensifying the competition.
