Mumbai, August 4 (H.S.) – Ajay Devgn’s much-anticipated sequel Son of Sardaar 2 finally hit theatres on August 1. Despite the pre-release buzz and high expectations from fans, the film has had only a moderate run so far at the box office.

Packed with action and comedy, the film has received mixed reviews from critics. While some appreciated its masala entertainment value, others felt the humour and script failed to impress. The third-day collections give a clearer picture of the film’s popularity among audiences.
According to box office tracker Sacnilk, Son of Sardaar 2 earned:
₹7.25 crore on opening day (Friday)
₹8.25 crore on Saturday
₹9.25 crore on Sunday
This brings the opening weekend total to ₹24.75 crore. With an estimated budget of ₹80 crore, the film still has a long road ahead to achieve hit status.
The film marks Ajay Devgn’s first on-screen pairing with Mrunal Thakur, who plays the role of Rabia. Their chemistry has been well-received by audiences. Directed by Vijay Kumar Arora, the film is designed as a typical commercial entertainer.
The ensemble cast includes Neeru Bajwa, Roshni Walia, Kubbra Sait, Deepak Dobriyal, Sahil Mehta, Chunky Pandey, and Ravi Kishan in pivotal roles.
With weekdays ahead and mixed word-of-mouth, the film’s performance over the next few days will determine whether it can sustain momentum and inch closer to recovering its production costs.
