Son of Former Karnataka CM Alleges Political Conspiracy in Sting Operation
Yatindra Siddaramaiah claims a sting operation targeting his father aims to tarnish his political legacy and is linked to party insiders.

Mysuru, October 23 (Daily Kiran) : Yatindra Siddaramaiah, son of former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, has made serious allegations regarding a recent sting operation involving his father. Speaking to reporters in Mysuru, Yatindra suggested that the operation was orchestrated to undermine Siddaramaiah’s 40-year political legacy and to blackmail him.
He emphasized the need for a thorough investigation to determine whether the individuals featured in the video acted independently or were influenced by others. Yatindra pointed out that the footage implicates some Congress leaders and a senior journalist, raising questions about the circumstances surrounding the sting.
“This operation was aimed at damaging his reputation, destroying his legacy, and blackmailing him,” Yatindra stated. He highlighted that the involvement of party members and a journalist in the video necessitates scrutiny.
While he expressed concerns about the implications of the video, Yatindra refrained from suspecting any specific individual. He insisted that the truth would emerge through the investigation. Regarding the involvement of Congress leaders, he mentioned a female leader who allegedly sought a party ticket to contest from the Puttur constituency.
“On the surface, it seems this might be the reason behind the sting operation,” he noted. However, he clarified that it would be unfair to assume a conspiracy against them by the entire party simply because one member was implicated.
Yatindra also shared insights into his father’s emotional state, revealing that Siddaramaiah is deeply hurt by the false allegations and rumors surrounding him. Having dedicated nearly four decades to politics, Siddaramaiah has never faced such accusations before, making this controversy particularly distressing as he approaches the end of his political career.
He added that his mother is unaware of the full details of the situation, as she is currently in Mysuru. Yatindra believes that once she learns of his father’s innocence, she will find comfort in that assurance. Meanwhile, the police are actively investigating the alleged sting operation, focusing on the roles of those named in connection with the video.
