Congress Leader Rashid Alvi Criticizes BJP Over Foreign Relations Claims

Rashid Alvi challenges BJPs claims about foreign connections, demanding transparency and accountability from party leaders.

New Delhi, October 24 (Daily Kiran) : Rashid Alvi, a prominent Congress leader, has launched a sharp rebuttal against statements made by Nitin Naveen, the national president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), regarding foreign influences. Alvi urged Naveen to disclose which foreign powers he was referring to and to identify individuals in India allegedly colluding with them, demanding accountability and transparency.

Alvi stated, “If anyone has the most connections with foreign powers, it is the BJP. Donald Trump makes comments almost daily, yet your government remains silent.” He insisted that the BJP should clarify who these foreign powers are and which individuals within India might be collaborating with them. “If you know this information, why haven’t any arrests been made?” he questioned.

He further criticized the BJP’s inaction, stating, “Your government is aware that foreign powers are harming the country, yet you take no action. They roam freely.”

Addressing comments made by actor Naseeruddin Shah about the weakening of democracy, Alvi expressed concern over the increasing dominance of authoritarianism in India. He noted, “When the discourse shifts from politicians to the youth and even to film personalities, it indicates that democracy is under threat.”

On the topic of Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini’s remarks about the 1984 riots, Alvi reminded that the Congress party has already apologized for those events and emphasized that no one has defended the riots except for prominent leaders of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), such as Nanaji Deshmukh. He challenged the BJP to clarify whether they agree with Deshmukh’s views, stating, “If you disagree, return his Bharat Ratna award.”

Alvi also responded to the BJP’s request to postpone the India Block rally scheduled for November 1, asserting that the BJP was behind the letter requesting the delay. He questioned why the police granted permission for the rally if the situation was indeed concerning.

In response to allegations against Rahul Gandhi, he remarked, “Does the BJP not hold public gatherings? Are you afraid of the large crowds at Congress rallies? The people are tired of your government and are ready to stand against authoritarianism.”

Finally, addressing comments from Farooq Abdullah, the president of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference, Alvi stated that the BJP is indeed anti-Muslim, engaging in politics that marginalizes Muslims in India. However, he disagreed with Abdullah’s assertion that Pakistan is protecting Kashmiris, noting that Pakistan itself struggles to manage its territory effectively.

The political discourse continues to heat up as both parties prepare for the upcoming elections, with Alvi’s remarks highlighting the ongoing tensions and challenges facing the BJP and Congress alike.
