Siliguri, 30 December (Daily Kiran) – The entire Darjeeling district, including Siliguri city, is experiencing severe cold weather. Dense fog has enveloped the roads, homes, and surrounding areas, creating a thick blanket of mist. The delayed sunrise is visibly affecting daily life, as the cold grips the city.
Despite the chill, many people are enjoying the cold season. From late night to early morning, locals and tourists can be seen on the city streets. To keep warm, pedestrians, rickshaw drivers, and daily wage workers are seen warming themselves by fires across various parts of the city.
