Patna, August 24: Bihar’s Rural Development Minister, Shravan Kumar, has responded to the student protests and rising sugar prices. He criticized Tejashwi Yadav‘s announcement to take to the streets on August 25, stating that Yadav is more concerned about himself than the students. Kumar accused Yadav of using students as pawns to jeopardize their future. He urged students not to fall for such political tricks, asserting that the government is serious about employment and has made the highest number of government appointments in Bihar.
Tejashwi Yadav, the former Deputy Chief Minister and leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal, plans to lead protests on August 25. In response, Minister Shravan Kumar remarked, “He is not worried about the students but about his own interests. The government is addressing the issues faced by students, the unemployed, and the youth. Political leaders are anxious and are leading students to the streets to ruin their future.”
Kumar appealed to students, saying, “I urge you not to be misled by them. Employment initiatives have been launched by the Chief Minister. Every department is making appointments. Bihar is the first state in the country to have the highest number of government job appointments. Significant work is being done in the employment sector.”
He also mentioned that if any irregularities are suspected, the government will investigate. Those involved will face strict legal action.
As for rising prices, including sugar, Kumar noted that prices fluctuate. It is essential to support our sugarcane farmers. The government has instructed against hoarding and is closely monitoring those engaged in black marketing.
Meanwhile, Tej Pratap Yadav, the National President of the Janata Dal, commented on the rising sugar prices, urging the government to control inflation, as it is troubling for the poor.
