Bokaro, March 4: A shocking incident has unfolded in the Bokaro district of Jharkhand, where a man’s body was discovered in a water tank of an under-construction apartment. The deceased has been identified as Sant Kumar, who had been missing for the past two days.
Following the suspicious circumstances surrounding the discovery, the family has raised concerns about potential foul play, leading to heightened tensions in the area.
Reports indicate that Sant Kumar had traveled to Varanasi to attend the funeral of his friend Manto Thakur’s father. Family members stated that shortly after arriving, his mobile phone went silent. When they attempted to reach out to others who were with him, they received no clear information. Fearing the worst, the family approached the Chas police station to file a missing person report.
On Tuesday, authorities received information about a body found in the water tank located near the under-construction apartment complex in Jodhamod. Upon identification, it was confirmed that the body belonged to Sant Kumar. As news of the recovery spread, family members and local residents rushed to the scene.
Outraged by the incident, protesters blocked the national highway, accusing authorities of murder and demanding the swift arrest of those responsible, along with a fair investigation. The roadblock caused significant traffic disruptions, leading to long queues of vehicles in both directions. Additional police forces were called in to manage the situation.
The police have taken possession of the body and sent it for post-mortem examination. Officials stated that the cause of death will be determined after medical reports and forensic investigations are completed.
