Mumbai, August 5: Skin issues can significantly impact one’s confidence. This challenge affects not only ordinary people but also celebrities. Actress Shivangi Joshi has faced these struggles herself. In the web reality show ‘Lockup-2’, she candidly discussed her skin problems.
During a conversation with fellow contestant Shreya Kalra, who referred to Shivangi as “Annabella,” the actress expressed how deeply comments about appearances can affect a person.
Shivangi shared that being repeatedly called Annabella made her uncomfortable. She recalled supporting Shreya when she experienced an allergic reaction on her face, saying, “I tried my best to make her feel at ease because I understand how insecure everyone can feel. I have struggled with acne and skin issues my entire life. I know how insecure these things can make someone feel.”
The actress empathized with those who feel insecure about their appearance. She added, “It hurts when people mock my face and makeup.”
Additionally, Shivangi voiced her displeasure over comments made by Shreya and Shilpa regarding television shows. She reflected, “When they were discussing Harshad and daily soap acting, I thought about how they also came from the same background. Shreya herself once mentioned that she auditioned for serials but didn’t get the roles.”
It’s worth noting that during her role in the TV serial ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai,’ Shivangi faced online trolling due to acne scars on her face.
