New Delhi, March 20: Tensions have arisen between the Congress and RJD following the Grand Alliance’s defeat in Bihar’s five Rajya Sabha seats. Senior BJP leader Shah Nawaz Hussain commented that there is no unity within the Grand Alliance, nor will there ever be.
In a discussion in New Delhi, Hussain stated that the friction between RJD and Congress will escalate. He emphasized that they do not support each other during elections, labeling the alliance as merely nominal. “They come together only for the sake of Muslim votes. The truth is, there is no unity among them, and there never will be,” he asserted.
Responding to Congress MP Shashi Tharoor’s remarks, Hussain agreed, stating that Tharoor spoke the truth. He noted that Congress might be displeased, but the government remains vigilant. “Tharoor only shared half the story. Our diplomacy ensures we maintain relations with all countries. The Prime Minister is in contact with all Gulf nations, and discussions have occurred between our Foreign Minister and Iran’s Foreign Minister. We are a peace-loving nation and desire harmony; we cannot take sides, and that is our diplomatic stance,” he added.
Regarding the threats received by Union Minister Jayant Chaudhary, Hussain affirmed that Chaudhary is a key NDA leader. He assured that full security will be provided, and a thorough investigation will be conducted. “No individual can engage in such misconduct, and action will be taken against anyone who attempts it,” he stated.
On the rising prices of premium petrol, Hussain remarked that the government cares for the common people. He pointed out that around 14 countries are involved in the Iran-Israel-America conflict, all significant producers of petrol and gas, leading to a global increase in fuel prices. However, he noted that in India, the price of premium petrol has only risen by 2.70 rupees. While industrial fuel prices have increased, the prices for petrol used by the general public have remained stable. “This shows that our Prime Minister and government prioritize the concerns of the common people, even during this crisis,” he concluded.
