Patna, August 8: Tejashwi Yadav, the Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Assembly, addressed the alarming crime rates and the plight of poor farmers and laborers during a visit to Dinara on Saturday. He highlighted the brutal murder of a poor farmer-laborer in Rohtas Dinara.
Yadav stated that efforts are being made to shield those involved in the case. He plans to meet the victim’s family to offer support and assistance.
He emphasized that the deceased came from a marginalized background and was killed while seeking his wages. Since Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary’s government took office, crime rates have surged across Bihar.
Yadav further noted that criminals are targeting the poor, while police are using force against students. He accused the Chaudhary administration of ruining Bihar.
He pointed out that the state treasury is empty, with no funds available for contractors, employees, or pensions. Corruption and crime have become rampant under this government, prompting his visit to the victim’s family. Prior to this, he had spoken with them over the phone, expressing the importance of standing with people in their time of grief.
Yadav asserted that the state government is now being run from Delhi, claiming that any BJP Chief Minister in Bihar would merely be a rubber stamp. He criticized the lack of decisive action against corrupt officials and criminals, who are instead being protected. He concluded by stating that the government has completely dismantled law and order in the state.
