Ganderbal, June 20: In preparation for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra and the annual Khirbhawani Mela, police in Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir conducted a comprehensive Advanced Security Tasking (AST) exercise. This initiative aims to ensure the safety of pilgrims along the Ganderbal-Baltal and Khirbhawani routes, allowing for a smooth and secure experience.
The AST exercise involved senior officials from Ganderbal police collaborating with other security agencies. They meticulously reviewed sensitive locations, deployment plans, traffic management strategies, emergency response systems, crowd control tactics, and preparations along critical routes.
During this exercise, officials inspected several key areas along the Baltal and Khirbhawani temple routes. They assessed security and logistical arrangements to strengthen the multi-layered security setup for both major religious events. Field officers received directives to remain vigilant, ensure better coordination among all stakeholders, and facilitate the movement of pilgrims.
