SCL Recruitment 2026: 83 Vacancies Including Technicians, Application Portal Opens November 1

Chandigarh, October 22 (Daily Kiran) : The Semiconductor Laboratory (SCL), an autonomous body under India’s Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, has announced a recruitment drive for 83 positions. This opportunity is particularly appealing for those seeking a career in laboratory work.

Among the available positions, there are 12 administrative roles, 30 technical assistant roles, and 41 technician ‘B’ positions. The administrative roles include two administrative officers, one accounts officer, two purchase and stores officers, and seven junior personal assistants.

The technical assistant vacancies are categorized by trade: one in electrical, four in mechanical, twelve in electronics, four in instrumentation, one in computer science, two in information technology, one in civil, one in chemical, one in fire and safety, one in physics, and two in chemistry.

For the technician ‘B’ roles, the breakdown includes three fitters, two in ICT system maintenance, three electricians, ten in electronics, eight electronics mechanics, six in instrumentation, two in refrigeration and air conditioning, one draftsman (civil), three draftsmen (mechanical), one in fire and safety, one plumber, and one mechanic.

The application process will commence online at 11 AM on November 1 and will remain open until 5 PM on November 30. Interested candidates can complete their registration on the SCL official website during this period.

Applicants for the administrative positions must hold a graduation or post-graduation degree from a recognized institution, with specific qualifications for junior personal assistants requiring at least a 12th-grade pass. Additionally, candidates should have relevant experience: ten years for graduates, five years for post-graduates, or two years for those with an MBA.

For technical assistant roles, candidates need a first-class diploma or degree in the relevant field, along with two years of experience in research and development or recognized organizations.

Candidates applying for technician ‘B’ positions must have completed matriculation/SSLC and possess a two-year ITI certificate in the relevant trade, along with similar experience requirements.

The age limit for applicants ranges from 18 to 35 years, depending on the position, with age calculated as of the application deadline. Relaxations are available for candidates from reserved categories.

Selection will be based on application scrutiny, a computer-based test, personal interviews, skill assessments, and document verification. Salaries for selected candidates will range from ₹21,700 to ₹1,06,740 per month, along with additional benefits.

Candidates must pay the application fee online, which is set between ₹1,200 and ₹1,500 for general/OBC/EWS male applicants. Women and candidates from SC/ST/PWD/Ex-servicemen categories are eligible for fee concessions. Those taking the computer-based test will receive a refund of the application fee minus a processing charge of ₹600.
