Sitamarhi, April 21: Sanjay Sarawagi, the Bihar BJP state president, visited the renowned Punohra Dham in Sitamarhi on Tuesday to offer prayers to Goddess Sita.
In a conversation with the media, Sarawagi expressed confidence that Punohra Dham will soon gain international recognition and attract devotees heading to Ayodhya.
“This is my second visit to Punohra Dham. In the near future, this site will shine on the international stage. Devotees of Lord Ram traveling to Ayodhya will also visit Punohra Dham. Development work is progressing rapidly here,” he stated.
Responding to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s remarks about Prime Minister Modi, Sarawagi criticized the language and mindset of the Congress leadership, stating that such comments are unfortunate and against the dignity of democracy. He emphasized that while dissent is part of democracy, using disrespectful language is unacceptable. He urged Kharge to apologize to the nation for his words, which reflect Congress’s despair and lack of direction.
Sarawagi congratulated Shravan Kumar on being elected as the leader of the JD(U) legislative party, expressing confidence that his leadership will guide the state towards continuous progress.
Regarding women’s reservation, Sarawagi highlighted that the proposed 131st Constitutional Amendment Bill on April 17 was a significant day for Indian democracy. The bill aimed to provide 33% reservation for women and increase the number of Lok Sabha seats from 543 to 850. However, he criticized the opposition for rejecting it, showcasing their anti-women stance.
Upon Sarawagi’s arrival in Sitamarhi, BJP workers warmly welcomed him. He remarked that their love, trust, and support empower him to serve the public with greater determination and commitment.
