Mumbai, September 17 (Daily Kiran) : Sandeep Sikand, an actor recognized for his roles in popular television shows such as “Yeh Hai Mohabbatein,” “Phulwa,” and “Bandini,” is branching out into film with his upcoming short film titled “Omelette.” In a recent interview, Sikand expressed his frustrations with the television industry, stating he feels constrained by its repetitive storytelling.
He explained, “The struggle for shows to sustain themselves often overshadows character development and story progression. The primary concern tends to be whether a show will run long enough to generate revenue. This has become a bit tiresome for me, as I believe that storytelling is the lifeblood of any medium.”
“Omelette” presents a mature narrative that delves into a complex relationship. Sikand noted that television often shies away from unconventional storytelling, which he believes audiences crave. “I felt it was impossible to convey this story on television, as it seems stuck and hesitant to take risks. That’s why I decided to create a film instead,” he remarked.
The short film, running at approximately thirty minutes, has already received positive feedback from a select group of friends who viewed it. “The feedback has been encouraging, and I’m excited that ‘Omelette’ is now ready,” he added.
Sikand emphasized the importance of prioritizing storytelling and the audience’s desire for unique narratives. “With its twists and turns, I believe ‘Omelette’ stands out as a compelling film,” he said.
